I am looking for a book I read as a kid, unfortunately I don't know the name or author. It wasn't part of a series. It was published before 2005. It is a YA Fiction book about a girl living in medieval times, she lives with her father and they are in the peasant class. He is told by the other families he should be disciplining his daughter by beating her, but he doesn't believe in that. Then he realizes that his daughter is a witch, I think she turned a stone into a frog. Being a witch is forbidden so they have to keep it a secret. As a witch she should be able to turn into any animal but she struggles with that until the very end, when she turns into a large bird to escape her captors. I don't remember much else but hopefully someone else remembers this book! Thanks in advance.
